A Chinese New Year Message from our Principal
Dear CIS community,
As we embark on the Chinese New Year/Spring Festival season, it is an excellent time to reflect on just how privileged we are to be in China and celebrate the rich culture of our host country. As Principal of an international Canadian school that is also part of China, our 45+ nationalities bring huge diversity and a range of different cultures to the school. Whilst we enjoy and celebrate them, we also feel that China is very much our second home, and for that, we are truly grateful to all of those who work and cooperate with us, and to our Chinese families who bring this richness into the school.
Our special day of celebration (including a welcome lion dance and welcome back events) will be held on our first day back at school, on Monday, February 6. We look forward to finally seeing all of our students and new faces on campus!
On a different note, we warmly invite all CIS families, as well as those who're interested in joining us in the near future, to the many workshops and meetings that will take place over the next few months. It is imperative that we meet in person regularly. Please do pay attention to the class groups and CIS official social media; more information will be shared soon.
On behalf of CIS, I wish every single member of our CIS family a very happy New Year of the Rabbit, safe and enjoyable holidays wherever you may be, and the warmth and spirit of being with family and friends at this very special time. As ever, I can’t wait to see you all again when we return to school.
Gong Hey Fat Choi, and thank you for all that you do for our students.
Yours in education,
