Curriculum Sessions

Canadian International School of Guangzhou 2022-09-16

This past week, CIS hosted our first ‘Curriculum Nights’ of this school year. Every semester, CIS ensures that informative meetings are held for parents by our teachers and EAs, to outline what students are learning at school and how parents can work with us as a team to maximize their child’s learning outcomes.

As much as we wanted to meet face-to-face with all the families, our curricula sessions had to be moved online due to COVID control protocols. However, it was as informative and inspiring as expected, and we were very excited to “meet” all the friendly (and familiar) faces on camera!

This semester’s CIS curricula sessions were an excellent opportunity to learn about our rigorous Canadian curriculum, our holistic programs and our additional support services. For our elementary parents, it was also a chance to explore the IB PYP program as well as how to use Seesaw, our home-school communication platform.

Here's What Our Parents Had to Say...

“I learnt a lot about how CIS integrates the Canadian curriculum with the IB PYP framework. It was also a chance to meet my son’s teachers. I am also very excited about meeting everyone at our first parent-teacher interviews.”

——Elementary Parent

“My child is applying for university next year, and it was excellent to see how CIS has brought together an outstanding team of educators to ensure my daughter is ready for university life. She wants to study in the US, and already the CIS’ university counsellor has been diligently working with her. She is also excited to sit for her SATs at CIS too, now that CIS is a SAT center.

——High School Parent

Join Us for our IB Parent Workshop!

Education is a lifelong journey we share with our community. While we want our children to obtain a growth mindset, parents and educators also need to keep learning! Growing together as a caring academic community helps us build stronger connections and greatly benefits a child’s learning journey.

Given the interest around our Canadian curriculum and IB PYP program, CIS is hosting a series of IB Parent Workshop this coming week from Tuesday to Thursday! Feel free to call us and register! We can’t wait to see you!
