Indian Cultural Celebration at CIS!
Namaste! CIS is proud to announce our partnership with the Consulate General of India in Guangzhou. From October 17-21, the CIS community enjoyed a selection of specially cooked, taste and age-appropriate Indian dishes, with chef training provided by Rangoli Restaurant. With culture, music, art, Bollywood dances and more, CIS brought to all our students a chance to 'Experience India' right here at CIS!
Special thanks to Mr. Shambhu Hakki, the Consul General from Consulate of India of Guangzhou, and his team, and Mr. Sasi from Rangoli Restaurant, as well as our Indian parents and students at CIS.
Everyone’s Favorite: A Week of Delicious Indian FOOD!
Butter chicken, chickpea curry, pakora, chicken biryani, pav bhaji and plenty more! How many signature dishes do you know from India? Well! We had them ALL during ‘Experience India’ week! Our CIS chefs collaborated with chefs from Rangoli restaurant and brought original Indian flavors to CIS.
Getting Artistic: Traditional Henna Art and More!
CIS students and staff had a taste of organic Henna art from some of our very talented parents! What pattern did you choose for your Henna?
Students made Mandela art, colored pictures and plenty more! Check out our amazing creations.
Developing Global Citizenship at CIS
CIS has a tradition of celebrating different cultures around the world. Our students and staff come from over 45 nationalities, and cultural weeks are our way of understanding, showing respect to our differences, and celebrating with a wider community. As an IB PYP candidate school, this is also how we come to embrace international mindedness and build connections with the world around us in a fun and resourceful way.
This cultural event is part of CIS' Cultural Celebration Series. In the next few months, students will 'visit' Germany, Canada, Australia, Indonesia and many more countries. We are very proud of our deep international connections and consulate support, and thank the wider international community in Guangzhou for all their assistance.
