Raise Future Leaders with Multi-cultural Awareness

With students from more than 40 countries around the world, CIS is a small but strong global community. One of our main goals at CIS is to cultivate global citizens with a deep understanding of Chinese culture.

To better become internationally-minded, we believe that studying more about our host country and culture is key. Therefore at CIS, we celebrate our annual Mid-Autumn Festival as an important part of our Mandarin Program. 

As a truly international school based in China, everyone in the CIS community values the importance of multiple language learning. Our Mandarin program is a required course in our curriculum. Consisting of a native and non-native pathway, our Mandarin program provides individualized learning experience to our students with different language levels.

Our Mandarin team has initiated a number of interesting acvitivies to ignite our students’ passion for cultural appreciation. Besides Mid-Autumn celebration, we also invite famous Chinese master artists to teach different art subjects such as Chinese painting and calligraphy. It not only offers students a chance to develop their core communication skills but also allows them to understand Chinese history and arts, cultural identity and literature. 

At CIS, we believe that learning about both cultures in a mutually respectful and inclusive environment will benefit our student's understanding about global citizenship and cultivate an international mindset. We are learning today to lead tomorrow!
