CIS Band Wins First Prize at Shenzhen Wind Music Festival!

What an unforgettable moment for CIS! Our flagship orchestra, the True North Band, has claimed First Prize at the prestigious 2025 Shenzhen Wind Music Festival, standing proudly among the finest international school orchestras in the Greater Bay Area. This victory is more than a trophy—it's a testament to months of relentless practice, passion, and teamwork.

Representing CIS with 75 extraordinary musicians from Grades 6–12, our students delivered a performance that left the audience in awe. Their precision, artistry, and energy were nothing short of spectacular—qualities that world-class musician Dr. Zachary Buie also praised during last month's concert. Competing at a professional level, they showed resilience, unity, and a love for music that inspires us all.

And here's what makes this achievement even more remarkable: on December 6, the same day as the competition, many of these talented musicians also performed at our Winter Festival, bringing joy to our community before heading to Shenzhen. Two major performances in one day—and they shone brilliantly in both!

From our Winter Festival performances to the Greater Bay Area International Schools Honor Band Concert 2025, where 31 CIS musicians joined peers from eight schools, to festive carols at our entrance and performances across the city—our students shared their talent far and wide.
