Elementary Programme
Top 10 Nationwide
#2 in Greater Bay Area
CIS is an official International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) World School! CIS is also the first and only IB PYP school in Panyu District. Alberta curriculum is the strongest curriculum in Canada and consistently ranks in the Top 8 of all the countries in the world. By merging the IB PYP framework into the Alberta Programme of Study, CIS is placing a more intense focus on the true development of the whole child, preparing them to be world citizens and lifelong learners beyond school.
The IB PYP framework is how our teachers deliver the curriculum, and the Alberta Programme of Study are what they use to teach and ensure that students meet learning outcomes. The marriage of both, or the benefit rather, of merging the IB PYP and Alberta Programme of Study is that there is a more intense focus on the true development of the whole child, preparing them to be world citizens and lifelong learners that are academically, socially, physically, emotionally and culturally ready for life and leadership beyond school.
03:High School Programme
A Historic Achievement
As an Alberta-accredited international school, graduating from CIS means obtaining an Alberta high school diploma, a gateway to the world's top universities. This year, CIS's Class of 2025 achieved spectacular results, with 100% receiving admissions from top 100 universities worldwide. Highlights include offers from University College London (UCL)—the UK “G5 university”, as well as 12 offers from the University of Toronto (ranked #25 globally and #1 in Canada). While CIS is proudly Canadian, almost 80% of our offers are from universities in the U.S., UK, Australia, and Asia.
From Carnegie Mellon University—one of the "New Ivies" and ranked among the most employer-preferred U.S. schools—to Loughborough University, QS world #1 in sports science; from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a global leader in art and design (QS Top 10), to top mathematics universities across Europe—CIS students are making their mark on top global universities. This reflects how positively universities across the world recognize the qualifications, talents, and academic success of CIS students.
