The 2023 ACAMIS Spring Leadership Conference saw a number of milestones in the history of the Association:

This is the first time that we've been able to get together as an organization for three years. The members of our 85 schools had been truly looking forward to getting together again and connecting, sharing and learning together for some time. What a good feeling it was! This year, we had about the third largest attendance we've ever had, despite the fact that 13 schools outside of China could not attend. That's about 425 attendees, including sponsors from 40 different companies. We had around 60 peer presenters covering 7-8 strands and people for the first time could cross over from one strand to another and attend any session they want.

——Mr. Tom Ulmet, ACAMIS Executive Director

Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow

The theme of this year's ACAMIS Spring Leadership Conference was ‘Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow’, which just happens to be the CISGZ motto. As a community of professionals, ACAMIS actively promotes lifelong learning and professional development for both member and non-member schools.

As we learn, we have to adapt how we lead in response to the needs of people around us. My hope is that education today will prepare us to be better at tuning in to the needs of the people around us to equip them not just for the future, but for today.

——Jane Larsson, Executive Director and Council of International Schools (CIS)

Ms. Jane Larsson delivered the Conference’s first keynote speech about shaping the future of international education, advocating for the development of socially responsible leadership.

Being a teacher for the last six years has made me realize that the hard work, dedication and the time in this job are huge and really important. And I'm a product of that.

——Marlon Devonish, Teacher and Olympic Gold Medalist
