This is Brett Fawcett’s first year teaching at Canadian International School and his first year as a teacher. He comes from Edmonton, Alberta, where he obtained a Master’s of Theological Studies (with distinction) before getting his after-degree in Education. He is the Winner of the 2018 Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta Social Studies Award for his lessons on Alberta history. His writings on curriculum reform have been published in the Edmonton Journal, the Sherwood Park News, and the Huffington Post, and he has presented on the history of education in Canada at academic conferences. Mr. Fawcett became a teacher because he loves seeing children grow into who they are, helping them develop their strengths, and watching them overcome their obstacles. He believes in putting children first, caring for their entire wellness as persons, and encouraging them to develop a mastery of the subjects, guided by their curiosity, intuition, and natural intelligence. He is also the proud husband of Mrs. Fawcett, who teaches Kindergarten at CIS.
