The high school is comprised of Grades 10 – 12, and offers a rigorous program in preparation for entrance into worldwide universities and technical schools. Alberta’s students have achieved results among the highest jurisdictions in the world, due to the strong provincial curriculum and pedagogy.
The Organization for Economic and Co-operation Development (OECD), whose mandate is to promote policies to improve economic and social well-being in countries around the world, sponsors a worldwide assessment program in Reading, Mathematics and Science. Canada scores in the top 10 countries consistently, and Alberta, when the results are separated out, is even stronger. In the latest 2015 results, Alberta scored second in the world in Science and third in the world in reading. This is a testament to the high quality of Canadian education in general, and Alberta specifically.
Upon completion of the required credits for graduation, students at CIS receive an Alberta High School Diploma, accredited by the Alberta Ministry of Education.
Our goal is for 100% of our students to graduate with an Alberta High School Diploma and enter a top ranked university.
