Senior Girls Volleyball
For the first time in CIS history, the Grizzlies have a senior girls volleyball team. September 21 brought the senior girls volleyball team to their first ever tournament. With one win in the books from September 19 home game, the girls were excited and enthusiastic about teir next challenge.
The tournament began against the extremely talented UISG (Utahloy International School Guangzhou) team. These girls have a very strong and experienced team, but our Grizzlies went out and played their best! Strong serves from the UISG team gave us a tough time returning the ball, and they beat us in 2 straight sets.

The Grizzlies did not lose their excitement though and were off to their next game. Game two was played against ZIS (Zhuhai International School). The Grizzlies brought their best with serves in the first set and won a close one. The second set was won by ZIS, which meant for the first time the Grizzlies went to a third set to decide the winner. Our strong serving gave the Grizzlies an early lead, and we took the third set and the game.
Our final game was against BASIS. The beginning of the first set BASIS came out with a superstar server, gaining them a 10-0 lead early on. The Grizzlies struggled back to within a few points, however the BASIS team won the first set 25-18. The second set the Grizzlies showed their own strong serving, but BASIS battled back to take the second set and the game.
Overall, the Grizzlies put in an amazing effort in their first tournament. We have a lot to learn and improve, but we have had a great start to our first season! GO GRIZZLIES!
