One day before the Mid-Autumn Festival, our CIS community is enjoying some mooncake making fun!
Our ECE kids celebrated a family moment by making mooncakes with mom, dad or grandparents. Meanwhile our G1-G12 little adults are bringing their handmade blessings back to family.
This week our students have been learning about Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese Customs. We shared the tale of Chang’e and Houyi, discussed how this festival is about family reunion, and lots of students had a chance to design and make their own lanterns.
It is very important for CIS to remember that we are a Canadian School in China. We honour all Chinese National Holidays and celebrate Western holidays too. We continue to learn about different cultures, customs and holidays. It is our hope and goal that CIS students become ambassadors of Eastern and Western cultures.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all CIS families
