Expressing and understanding different feelings can be challenging for anyone. Over the last couple of weeks, PK2 have been looking at different feelings and what colours could be used to show how we are feeling. To do this, we used the colours and feelings from ‘Inside Out’. Our children were then asked to complete a number of creative activities that were not only fun, but also sensory and YUMMY!
Our activities included making colour rain, a snack filled with emotions, and edible slime.

Over the course of online teaching, we have taught the children different units and various topics through online platforms. We’ve been using a variety of different games to teach the 7 basic colours and shapes. We’ve also been teaching the kids the 5 senses and the basic human body parts. Further on, we also touched on the four seasons. Fall, winter, spring, and summer. Furthermore, we taught them basic emotions and feelings like sad, happy, angry, scared, and disgust. In addition, we’ve been singing many songs together, and what we can learn from them. Together, we have story-times for the kids to listen to. In math, they’ve been learning patterns, counting numbers, and number tracing. For motor skills, Ms.Hung has made videos of fun yoga routines for the kids to follow along.

The online learning platform really has been a great experience, even though we cannot be with the children to teach them, we can still stay involved in their everyday learning. We have been able to discover shapes and colours, do science experiments together to discuss feelings and create some wonderful art work! We sing songs, read books and play games. At the moment we are welcoming SPRING and new hope into our classroom, we have made cute bunnies and beautiful spring trees and hope to display them in our classrooms as soon as possible!
