Health & Safety
At CIS, we pay special attention to our children’s learning environment. As often after long holidays where families have traveled far and wide, children have come back having been exposed to various environments. Also with the weather and temperature changes, children are more susceptible to getting ill, colds, cases of flu, and other diseases such as the Nora virus, or Hand Foot & Mouth.
We remind parents to be aware and be more careful at home. Meanwhile, CIS is has taken extra measures to ensure the sterilization and cleaning of the school environment. Further information has been sent to our “Information” group chats.
Attendance / Lateness & Absence policies
To ensure safety and monitoring of each student on campus, the daily attendance recording, and monitoring is a vital part of student management. Below are some simple guidelines as a reminder in contacting school for any lateness or absences.
What Happened This Week!
Collaboration is part of CIS’ mission and this Monday, all staff stayed for the teacher evening meeting and shared about all the development and direction they’ve worked on. Teachers’ work never just stops by 3:30 pm, they tirelessly plan, prepare to create interesting and interactive lessons, and activities. It was truly exciting to see all the wonderful ideas, and development that our teachers have to offer our students.
Thursday 24th, Our 2nd Parent Symposium launched the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for this school year. We look forward to the show of interests from our parents as we form the 2019-2020 PAC ambassadors to CIS, and a voice for our CIS families.
The Symposium was followed by a guest speaker from Olivia’s place. Ms. Li shared some insightful methods of recognizing positive and negative behaviour in children and how to focus and reinforce the positive ones. We hope to welcome more opportunities to share such informative sessions with our families.
On Friday, as part of our STEAM initiative, our Grade 3 families were invited to explore the Idea Lab where they were taken through the world of virtual reality, augmented learning and more.
The Upcoming Week
The upcoming week is filled with family events beginning with our first ECE Family Night. Plus, watch for our PUMPKIN DAY! Be ready to dress up in your favourite costume, and as we approach the day, join in on some exciting house competitions.
Coming up on Friday, November 8th, CIEO/ CIS is holding a large scale Professional International Education Forum. This year the theme is INNOVATION!
