Tuition Notice and Payment
It is hard to believe the 2018-2019 school year will soon be complete and as a leadership team we have already begun to plan and get organized for the 2019-2020 school year.
On April 25, 2019 the tuition invoices for the 2019-2020 school year will be sent out to all of our current families. As you know we are a growing school that is seeing huge increases in student enrolment. As such, we ask all families to be mindful of the tuition payment guidelines on the invoice.
We thank you for your cooperation and we thank you for choosing CIS for your child’s education.
We’ve sent out offers and invoices to families who have successfully passed our admission tests and been accepted by CIS. Please finish the admissions process according to your letter in order to secure your seat. We are excited about all the new faces we will be seeing next year!
Creating a safe, caring and healthy environment for our students is one of our most important tenets here at CIS. We accomplish this in a number of ways, whether it is through the security of our guard station, ensuring all playground equipment is maintained and safe for student use or through our AtmosAir purification system, there are so many ways we think about the well-being of our students each day.
There are other ways that we work hard to keep our students safe and that is through fire drills and lock down drills. This year we have had three practice fire drills and on April 23 we will be practicing our first lock down drill. The purpose of a lock down drill is to ensure student safety should there ever be a danger or hazard on the campus that requires students to remain safely in their classrooms or in another secure space at school.
Lock downs can happen for a variety of reasons, whether there is a stranger on campus, an emergency services warning (flooding) or even a dangerous animal in close proximity of the school. In Canada having a school lock down because there is a moose or a bear near the school is not entirely uncommon.
We want our students to feel safe on campus at all times and that is why we practice fire drills and lock down drills, so in the event that we ever need to have one they feel prepared and confident to handle the situation.
The teachers will be speaking to their classes about the lock down drill and will be having their own practice prior to April 23. Please feel free to talk to your child about the lock down drill at home and please contact the school if you have any questions.
